He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter John and Helen Elizabeth "Peachey" Murphy (Flynn); and his sisters, Patricia Myers and Marcia Lee. He is survived by: his former wife Cindy Murphy (Hill); his wife Sharon Murphy (Loveless) of Lebanon; his children, Heather Peterson of Arizona and Darin Tribbett of Boston; and his grandchildren, Jacob Kay and Jordan Kay.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
