He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry William Summers and Martha Summers Collett (Obenchain) of Washington; his former wife Nellie Fay Perkins; his stepfather Paul G. Collett; his brother James H. Summers; his half-siblings, John Collett and Marcia Zimmerman; his sons-in-law, Shawn Lambacher and Rick Lyles; and his great grandchild Celia Jo Harcourt.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Summers (Allen) of Lebanon; his daughters, Brenda C. Summers of Indianapolis, Dianne H. Harcourt (Richard) of Zionsville and Barbara J. Lambacher (Thomas Fisher) of Galena, Ohio; and his stepdaughters, Teresa L. Lyles (Dave Styck) of Indianapolis and Dianna L. Dale (James) of Lebanon. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed in his memory to Gideons International or the Thorntown Christian Church.
