He was predeceased by: his father Joseph F. Schirmer; his wife Jo Ann Schirmer (Homan); and his daughter Elizabeth S. Miller. He is survived by: his children, Lawrence J. Schirmer (Beverly) of Brazil, James W. Schirmer of Sandersville, Georgia, Marianne Landis (David) of Ellijay and Janette M. Parker of Bartlett, Tennessee. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two brothers.
