He was predeceased by: his parents, Finis Earl and Lois Hazel (Mize). He is survived by: his wife Beverly J. Hazel of Leavenworth, Indiana; his children, Richard E. Hazel Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, Beverly Mae McCloud of Corydon and Elaine Marie Hazel; and his grandchildren, Landen Neal, Turner Lee and Braxton Earl McCloud.
