He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Braden (Miller) and William B. Braden; his sons, Melvin "Skip" Braden Jr. and Rick W. Braden; and his siblings, William Braden, Charles Braden, Marjorie Smith, Barbara Curran and Betty Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Braden (Block) of Lawrenceburg, IN; his daughters, Vicki Burleson (Pete) of Pendleton, IN, Sherry Mullen (Jim) of Lawrenceburg, IN, Deanna Meadors (Chris) of Sunman, IN and Shirley J. Jones (Dave) of Alexandria, KY; his adoptive sons, Gary Moore of Dillsboro, IN and Brian Moore (Sarah) of Dry Ridge, KY; and his sister-in-law Frances Caudill of Harrison, IN. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
