She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Ryan (George E. Schafer) and Maxine Ryan (Burcroff); her brothers, Michael, Ralph and Charles Ryan; and her grandson Ross Edward Eiler.
She is survived by: her husband George Edward Schafer; her sisters, Evelyn Van Kirk (late Wayland) of Lansing, Ruth Stapley (late Vincent) of Clarksville and Ann Maree Austin (Paul) of Milford, Michigan; her children, Camille Eiler (Lynn) of Kiawah Island, SC, Carol Schafer (Deb Lindstrom) of Osterville, MA, David Schafer (Laura) of Socorro, NM and Amy Douglas (Michael) of Crystal Springs, FL; her granddaughters, Jessica Birkle (Jason) of San Jose, CA, Ashley Eiler (James Dowd) of Portland, ME, Saela Bass of Anchorage, AK, Samantha Bass of Buckeye, AZ and Aurelia Douglas of Citrus Springs, FL; and her great grandchildren, Joshua Jordan, Ross, Neil, Kayson Birkle, George, Peter, Emmett Dowd, Alexis, Michala Garcia and Everleigh Eaton. She is also survived by her many friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church, 102 W High Street, Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
