He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford Gayheart and Emila Gayheart (Henderson); and his son Shermon Gayheart, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Geneva Gayheart of Larwill; his son David Gayheart of Larwill; his daughter-in-law Carla Jo Gayheart of Washington; his grandchildren, Branigan Gayheart, Brittany Gayheart and Carmin Gayheart; and his siblings, Harmon Gayheart (Linda) of Ohio, Darcus Martin of Ohio, Richard Gayheart (Noel) of Ohio and Franklin Gayheart of Ohio.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home (600 Countryside Dr, Columbia City, IN 46725).
