He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto James Simmerman and Freelove Simmerman (Sylvester); and his wife Dianna Simmerman. He is survived by: his children, Cathie Haley (Paul) of Indianapolis, Brian Simmerman (Michelle Holbrook) of Lapel and Chris Simmerman (Jason Richardson) of Indianapolis; his brother Jack D. Simmerman of Pendleton; his grandchildren, Amber Ward of Lapel, Andrew Barton of Ft. Worth Texas and Julian Simmerman of Indianapolis; his great grandchildren, Joseph VanBuskirk, Aaliyah Ward, Tearsa Ward and Jack Johnson; and his close friend Sallye Highsmith of Anderson.
