He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Rice and Gayle W. Rice (Wolfe); and his wife Nancy Rice (Gray). He is survived by: his sons, Brett A. Rice of Poland and Brian L. Rice (Kelly) of Anderson; his sisters, Georgie Jean Elgin and Margie Sheahan; his grandchildren, Kraig Rice (Morgan), Katee Rice (Luke) and Braxton Rice; and his great grandchildren, Jack Norman, George and Nathaniel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
