He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Joseph Oakes and Glenna Nadine Oakes (Timmerman). He is survived by: his wife Lisa Jane Oakes (Pike) of LaOtto; his sons, Matthew and Brandon Oakes; and his stepson Matthew Grunkel of Fort Wayne.
