He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Adam and Beatrice Rosa Kochert Stilger; his wife Joyce Irene Lamon Stilger; and his brothers, Roger and Ronald "Butch" Stilger.

He is survived by: his children, Michael (Ursula) of Batesville, Daniel (Margie) of Georgetown, Matthew (Nancy) of Noblesville, Indiana and Julie Anne Willoughby (Trent) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Jade, Blake, Sophia Stilger, Madison, Emilee Hubbard, Gabriel, Emori Stilger, Mary Childress, Taylor, Jarrett and Briana Willoughby; and his brother Darrell "Jim" Stilger (Peggy) of Crandall, Indiana..
