She was predeceased by: her parents, William Newell and Helene Elizabeth Cates (Kerr); and her brother Richard Cates. She is survived by: her husband Joseph S. Lawecki; her children, Helene Cooper (Jerry), Mary Smith, William Lawecki and Joe Lawecki; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan, Amanda (John), Heather (Rick), William, Ben, Melanie (Tim) and Tori (Mike); and her sister-in-law Pat Cates. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
