He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Schwind and Helen Schwind (Crawford). He is survived by: his sons, Leo Schwind of Colorado Springs, CO and John Schwind; his grandson Anthony Moon of Lakeville; his brother James; and his sister-in-law Karen Schwind of Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John "Jack" Schwind may be donated to National Alliance on Mental Illness, P.O. Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297.
