He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward M. Funkhouser and Margaret Funkhouser (Smith); his wife Isabel; his sister Sheryl Reynolds; and his son-in-law David Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Funkhouser (Anna) of St. Peters, MO, Dianna Carpenter of Crown Point, Carol Danapas (George) of Valparaiso and Mary Beth Hale (Willy) of Goshen, KY; his grandchildren, Kelly (Cesar), Robert, Katie (Tom), Hilary (James), Sarah (Justin), Bill (Rachel), Hannah (Hunter) and Patrick; and his great grandchildren, Kara, Isabela, William, Gabriela, Cesar, Wyatt, Maverick and Charlie Jean. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.
