He was predeceased by: his parents, Sydney Schaeffer and Pauline Schaeffer (Malone); his wife Shirley Mieras; his stepchildren, Linda Mieras, Robert Crabtree Jr. and Danny Mieras; and his grandsons, Larry Smith and Shane Deeds.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Schaeffer (Lyons); his daughters, Connie Deeds (Carl) and Pam Evans (Orin); his stepchildren, Mike Mieras, Lonnie Mieras, Douglas Mieras, Judy Harrington and Carrie Atkinson (Jeff) of Berne, IN; and his brother Larry Schaeffer (Sharon). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Eley Funeral Homes (235 W Burr Oak St, Centreville, MI 49032). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Oaklawn Cemetery (130 N Nottawa St, Sturgis, MI 49093).
