She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Orville J. Nelson and Lelia Nelson (Garlets); her husband Wilbur L. "Bill" Hooley; her children, Becky Wappes (Steve) of LaGrange, IN, Jackie Hartman (Robert) of LaGrange, IN and James D. Hooley (Linda) of Kendallville, IN; her siblings, Janice Smith of Carmel, IN and Ralph Q. Nelson (Betty) of LaGrange, IN.; her grandson Zachary Wappes; and her siblings, Oneita Nelson, Phyllis Meyer, Frazier E. Nelson and Thurlow G. Nelson. She was also cherished by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to either 1st Presbyterian Church or The Farm Project.
