He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl J. Johnson and Elizabeth Josephine Johnson (Rigsby); and his granddaughter Paige Johnson. He is survived by : his wife Diane M. Emmons; his sons, Dean Johnson (Melissa Bennett) of West Chester, PA and Dion Johnson; his grandchild Katelynn Gromala-Patrick (Lucas) of Albion; his sons, Zayne, Raeghan Johnson of Hudson, Jude and Oliver Bennett-Johnson of West Chester, PA; his daughter-in-law Tricia Gromala (EJ) of Hudson; and his siblings, Debra Johnson, Shery Wilson and Gary L. Johnson of LaGrange. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frurip-May Funeral Home (309 W Michigan St, LaGrange, IN 46761). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
