He was predeceased by: his parents, Ciprian Alaniz and Cecilia Martinez Alaniz; his brother Ciprian "Apple"; his sister-in-law Carmen Alanis; and his siblings, Theresa Alaniz Castillo and Jose Israel Alaniz.
He is survived by: his children, Rudy Alaniz (Angelica) of Salem, OR, Chanell Alaniz of Lafayette and Derek Alaniz (Crystal) of West Lafayette; his siblings, Robert Alaniz (Barbara) of Arizona, Sylvia Sisneros (Tony), Joe Alaniz of Donna, TX, Carolina Peña (Eloy) of Houston, TX, Jesse Alaniz of Lafayette, Danny Alaniz (Dalia) of Iowa and Erasmo Alaniz (Frances) of Donna, TX; his grandchildren, Rudy III, Cecilia, Abraham, Aiden, Kai, Caedance, Cara and Bryant; and his great grandchild Scarlette.
