She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Edward and Mary Halliday (Brooks); her husband Gerard Gillen; her daughter Lorraine Smales; and her siblings, John, Bill, Tony, Peggy and Gemma.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Gillen (Shawn) of Lafayette, IN, Julieanne Davis (Paul) of Woodlands, TX and Maria Novak of Lafayette, IN; her son-in-law Carl Smales of England; her grandchildren, Gary, Jonathan, Maryanne, Fiona, Philomena, Abigail, Adam, Harry, Ben, Tara, Erin and Conor; and her great grandchildren, Henry, Reuben, Arthur, Esther and Bernadette. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church (1916 Meharry St, Lafayette, IN 47904). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice in loving memory of Philomena.
