He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Farrell and Marie Farrell (Shedrow); his wife Ruth Farrell; and his siblings, Joe, Bob, Charlie, Josephine and Catherine.
He is survived by: his close friend Rozanna Weaver; and his brothers, Leo Farrell (Dot) of West Point and Dennis Farrell (Valarie) of West Lafayette. He is also survived by 3 step-children; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be given to the West Point Fire Department.
