It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Eileen Akers of Lafayette, Indiana, who passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Allen Lee Akers; her parents, Horace A. Benner and Fern Tarney Benner; and her brothers, Neil Benner and Gail Benner.
She is survived by: her children, Donna L. Brooking (Bob) of Indianapolis, Larry A. Akers (Donna) of Lafayette and Jean M. Melloy (Mike) of Indianapolis; and her sisters, Dixie Layman Stouder and Jane Kurial.
