He is survived by: his sister Susan Gainer (John) of Charlottesville, VA; his children, Brandt Smith (Laurie) of Houston, TX, Christina Wickes of Lafayette, IN, Kimberly Doerflein (Kevin) of Lafayette, IN and Carrie Smith of Lafayette, IN; his grandchildren, Erik Smith, Emily Perret, Riley, Reagan, Reece Wickes, Zachary, Bradley, Madeline, Mathew Doerflein, Kelsie, Kennedy and Presleigh Smith; and his nephews, Jamie, David Gainer and David Reuss.
