He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Abney and Ethel Gulley Abney; his wife Lela Sanders; and his siblings, Bill Abney and Betty Largent.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Pearl Sanders Hatfield; his son Marcus W Abney (Jan); his niece Pamela Snyder (Ken Keesee); his grandchildren, Melissa Abney, Matthew Abney (Julie), Cameron Snyder (Cali Acosta) and Benjamin Snyder; and his great grandchildren, Max Abney, Liam Snyder and Luke Snyder.
