He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Crosby and Anna Crosby (Bishop) of Roachdale, Indiana.; and his son Chadwicke Riley. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue (Morrison) of Ladoga, Indiana.; his children, Jennifer Johnson (Lee) of Spring Hill, Florida, Jason Crosby (Renee) of Ladoga and James Matthew Crosby (Amethyst) of Ladoga; and his siblings, Mary Ann Kellogg of Indianapolis and Wassell Crosby (Roberta) of Roachdale. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Whitson requested that donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
