Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Verneda Jones (La Porte, Indiana), born in Monon, Indiana, who passed away at the age of 97, on March 28, 2025. She was predeceased by: her husband Harry Donald Jones; her daughters, Sharon Ann Jones and Donna Mahler; her siblings, Hansel Larson, Hannah Cooper, Robert, William and Arnie Willis; and her sons-in-law, James Mahler and Robert Devereaux.
She is survived by: her daughter Judy Devereaux of Okeechobee, FL; her sister Helen Evans; her grandchildren, Todd Devereaux (Patty), Eric Devereaux (Susan), Patty Prentice and Michael Nybo; and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Devereaux, Caitlin and Cheyanne Prentice.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Haverstock Funeral Home (602 Maple Ave, La Porte, IN 46350). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
