She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Richie and Ethel Richie (Creech); her husband John Fort; her sisters, Geraldine Brahsears and Laverlle Richie; and her daughter Melody Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Jonathan Fort of La Porte, Jeremy Fort of Michigan City, Don Marcum of Michigan City and Veronica Lakewood of Florida; her grandchildren, Monica Marquis, Haley Ann Fort, Eric Lee Fort and Jackson Taylor Fort; and her brothers, Lavelle Richie (Sandy) of Knox, Vanis Richie of Mill Creek and Ronnie Richie (Shirley) of La Porte. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
