She was predeceased by: her parents, Mitchell Witowski and Bernice Witowski (Wrobleski); her husband Donald George Helmken; her daughter Tamara; and her sister Mary Jane Witowski.
She is survived by: her children, Brad Helmken (Lisa) of La Porte, IN, Penny Utpatal (Mike) of Michigan City, IN and Valerie Cuzick of Sevierville, TN; her sisters, Carol Minich of La Porte, IN and Sue Clifford of La Porte, IN; and her grandchildren, Brandon Helmken (Ariana), Katelin Helmken, Luke Helmken (Jennifer), Stephanie Gadd, Nicholas King, Hunter Friedrich, Cody Friedrich, Collin Dingman, Casie Dingman and Cayla Carmean (Jasen). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
