He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard LeRoy and Olive Odessa Hurni (Mettert); his son Steven L. Hurni; and his sisters, Leila Mae Moore and Lois Jean Shockley.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Ann Hostetler; his children, David A. Hurni (Ann) of Westville, Michael J. Hurni of La Porte, Susan G. Barr (Harold) of La Porte and Ken P. Hurni (Julie) of Union Mills; his daughter-in-law Charlotte Hurni of Valparaiso; his grandchildren, Edward Hurni (Kelly), Kevin Hurni (Rebecca), Sarah Romancheck, Douglas Hurni (Jess), Erin Wilson (Breyon), Jane Barr and Ben Barr; and his sister Barbara Ann Timmerman (Pete). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
