He was predeceased by: his parents, Ransom Hakes and Lucille Hakes (Hollaway); and his brothers, Billy, Phillip and David.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Hakes (Wendy) and Jamie Brown (Sam); and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Jackson, Joseph, Gabrielle and Arwen.
