He was predeceased by: his parents, Damien Kiernicki and Evdokia Kiernicki (Budzek); his wife Katherine (Zajac); his daughter Sophie Ohime; and his siblings, Maria Tomyn, Paraska Tomyn and Wasyl Tomyn.
He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Stephens (Charles) of New Carlisle, Olga Kiernicki of La Porte and Arlene Steinheiser (Paul) of La Porte; and his grandchildren, Chrystal Wilkeson, Tamara Moore, Jeff Ohime, Eric Stephens, Katherine Kestler and Robert Steinheiser. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
