He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay W. Cotton and Mary M. Cotton; his siblings, Jean Hooton, Carol Brehio, Joy Becker, Tom Cotton and Glen Cotton; and his grandson Karl Hans Boehringer.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Cotton; his children, Sandra Paloma (Vincent) of Hammond, IN, Karen Boehringer (Greg) of Wanatah, IN, Brian Cotton (Maya) and Alison Henderson (Dave) of Wake Forest, NC.; his grandchildren, Robin Tkacz (John Williams) of Bartlett, IL, Gerrit, Roland, Christopher Boehringer of Wanatah, IN, Portia Cotton of Victoria, BC, Annabelle and Mariel Henderson of Wake Forest, NC; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Biederstadt of Bellingham, WA and Marina Klepsch of Crown Point, IN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in LaPorte, IN, Dunes Hospice in Valparaiso, IN, or simply plant a tree.
