With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Helen Martha Szilagyi of La Porte, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Helen left this world on April 23, 2025 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Rzepka and Veronica Rzepka (Mucha); and her brothers, Walter, Stanley, Edward and Joseph Rzepka.

She is survived by: her husband Louis W. Szilagyi; her children, Daniel Szilagyi (Diane) of La Porte, Linda Rymer (Paul) of Mill Creek, Indiana. and Dorie Lauver (Neil) of Mill Creek, Indiana.; her grandchildren, Tami Gonzalez, Scott Szilagyi (Sara), Breanna Hull (Tony), Brian, Bradley Rymer, Kimberly Wood (Jason), Renee Trexler (Michael) and Ashley Lauver; her great grandchildren, Anna Delgado (Tristan), Sarah Cornelison, Domingo Gonzalez (DJ), Dawson, Gavin, Nolan, Lila Hull, Henryk, Isla Wood and Oliver Trexler; and her sister-in-law Jane Szilagyi. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home (1117 Indiana Ave, La Porte, IN 46350). A rosary was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 6:45 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (201 Bach St, La Porte, IN 46350). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
