She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Whitmer and Henrietta Whitmer (Martinsen); and her siblings, Leah Halter (Clifford) and Henry Whitmer (Betty). She is survived by: her husband Carl Garwood; her children, Brian Garwood (Carey) of LaPorte, David Garwood (Dixie) of LaPorte, Michael Garwood (Tina) of LaPorte and Diane Allison (Cash) of Florida; her grandchildren, Cody Allison (Elaine), Cory Allison (Tayler), Ryan Garwood and Rachel Garwood (Jay); and her great grandchildren, Acen, Eila and Ozzy Allison. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calendar Bethany Lutheran Church (102 G St, La Porte, IN 46350). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
