It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Debra K. Hoops of La Porte, Indiana, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Debra K. Hoops to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Schmidt and Evelyn Schmidt (Young); her spouse Jesse Ray Hoops, Jr.; and her siblings, Robert Schmidt and Linda Schmidt.
She is survived by: her children, Ada Hoops and Sean Hoops; her brothers, Raymond Schmidt of St. Cloud, FL and Roger Schmidt (Judith) of Michigan City; and her sister-in-law Janet Schmidt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Calendar Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center (2900 Monroe St, La Porte, IN 46350). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
