He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Nichols and Hazel Nichols; and his wife Anna C. Deuitch. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Nichols (Kris) of Kouts and Robert Nichols of Valparaiso; and his grandchildren, Rachel Nichols, Ryan Nichols (Holly), Hannah Doku (Joey), Samuel Nichols, Amanda Higgins (John) and Beth Phillips (Joel). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
