He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Birky and Emma Birky (Miller); his siblings, Marlin Birky, Uarda King and LaVerne Birky; and his grandsons, Isaac and David Mishler.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Casbon; and his children, Kent Birky (Betty) of Middlebury, Connie Miller (Gary) of Goshen, Rebecca Mishler (David), Ron Birky (Cheri) of Morgan Township and Kevin J. Birky (Carie) of Wheatfield.
