Ruby Alice Hoover Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Alice Hoover of Kouts, Indiana, born in Monterey, Indiana, who passed away on May 2, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Hoover and Opal Hoover (Fisher); her husband Leslie Birky; her siblings, Bonnie Sherman (Ron), Gladys Villars (Robert), Kenton Hoover and Clayton Hoover; her grandson Shane Kerns; her brothers-in-law, Larry Brantley and Ray Domelle; and her former husband Ronald Herma.

She is survived by: her children, Ronda Hefner (Keith), Michael Herma, Julie Kerns (Arthur), Stacy Birky (Brian), Jennifer Estep (Bobby) and Leslie Thurman (Dan); her grandchildren, Kyle Clougher (Kelly), Courtney Hernandez (Faustino), Kristin Colver (Brad), Ryan Hefner (Nichole), Amber McConnachie (Josh), Corey Herma (Lisa), Scott Herma (Danielle), Nickole Hachlica (Craig), Melissa Strehler, Travis Kerns (Chelsea), Brockton Birky (Kayla), Samuel Birky, Lukas Estep, Michael Estep (Jordan), Jared Estep (Olivia), Cody Adler, Gabriel Adler (Taylor) and Isaac Adler; and her sisters, Judy Brantley, Jeannie Domelle, Joyce Cooper (John) and Kay Hoover. She is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren, granddog, Bear; and many loving nieces, nephews, former students, and special friends.
