It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Chael of Kouts, Indiana, who passed away on December 12, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Chael and Caroline Chael (Schroeder); and his siblings, Harold Chael, Minnie Oehlman, Dorothy Kulp, Harrison John Chael and Mona McClintic.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ann Graeber; his former wife Annette Hyndman of Kouts; his children, Nancy Brooks (Ken) of Kouts and Paul Chael (Elizabeth) of Valparaiso; his grandchildren, Erica Clark (Dan) of Columbus, OH, Mark Stephens (Jessica) of Valparaiso, Krista Chael of Los Angeles, CA, Matthew Chael (Patrisha) of Crown Point and Kari Leer (Brent) of Valparaiso; his stepdaughter Dana Schroeder (Jeff); his stepgrandchild Jakob; his stepson Mike Hyndman of Valparaiso; his stepgranddaughters, Melissa Johnson (Jeremy) of Crown Point and Heather Brooks of Schererville; his great grandchildren, Thomas Clark, Alice Clark, Hudson Chael, Bennett Chael, Tessa Stephens, Vivian Stephens and Frances Leer; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Dylan Johnson and Brayden Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kouts Volunteer Fire Department.
