He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Hessling and Maxine Hessling (Arnold); and his siblings, Paul "Bud" Hessling, Shirley Grieger and Dean Hessling.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla Hessling (Knight); his children, Dana Redelman (Doug), Amy Johnson, Daniel Hessling (Lina), Lori Flesvig, Sarah Jansma (Ray), Sara Bokodi (Frank) and Heather Gibson (Kevin); his siblings, Darlene Herring and Robert Hessling (Julie); and his former wife Melody Hessling. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the DAV Chapter 102 of Valparaiso.
