She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Cephas Dyer and Effie Dyer (Stinson); her husband Hillous D. Stinson; and her siblings, Bill Dyer, Tommy Dyer, Joe Cephus Jr., Lucy England and Bessie Wheeler.

She is survived by: her sister-in-law Betty Dyer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Viola's memory to White Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
