He was predeceased by: his parents, Barton Shanks and Beulah Shanks (Butcher); and his brother-in-law Harvey Bartley. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Shanks; his children, Bruce Shanks (Melissa), Kim Starkey (Greg) and Lisa Shanks; his siblings, Carol Bartley, Judy Oyler (Joe) and Bob Shanks (Kathy); and his grandchildren, Brandon Shanks (Lauren), Aubrey Donlan (Clayton), Matt Britton and Laura Britton. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
