It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lanita Sue Schmidt of Kokomo, Indiana, who passed away on December 9, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lanita Sue Schmidt to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her father Lloyd McCaffery; her sister Rita Hopson; her great grandchild Karli VanNess; her niece Michele Gifford; her nephews, Todd Fitzgerald, Tommy Hopson and Eric VanHorn; and her grandson-in-law Bryan Gasaway.

She is survived by: her daughter Carolin Hunter (Randy) of Frankfort; her grandchildren, Dawn Shuck (T. J.) of Kokomo, Steven Hunter (Holly) of Amboy, Alison Gasaway of Cabot, AR and Kaitlin Green (Tyler) of Flora; her siblings, Linda Sholty of Kokomo, Joe VanHorn (Jean) of Noblesville and Darrell VanHorn (Sue) of Rock Spring, GA; and also Bill Johns. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
