He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Bess and Loretta Bess; his brother Roger; and his half-brothers, Terry Hall and Tracey Hall.
He is survived by: his stepbrothers, Brian Switzer (Penny) of Kokomo and Keven Switzer (Francheska) of Idaho; and his stepfather Ollie Switzer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
