He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stewart and Florence Prater (Brown); his former wife Faith Christine Reed; his wife Christine Prater; his son Kevin Prater; his granddaughter Chelsea Prater; and his great grandchild Jonah.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Muhs (Denver), Jeffrey Prater and Jerry Prater (Jane); his brother Don Smith; and also Mike Morgan. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jimmy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
