He is survived by: his wife Mary Johnston; his children, Frank Abney Jr., Tina Graves, Elizabeth Abney (Jason Tucker) and Holly Abney (John Hambaugh); his grandchildren, Taylor Smith (Brandon Ewing), Thomas Abney and Arya Abney; his stepgrandson James Hambaugh; his great grandchildren, Kaison Ewing, Kailani Ewing and Kolton Ewing; and his siblings, Linda Trent (Rick Ditmore) and Donald Abney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
