With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorsey Hurl Rhoades of Kokomo, Indiana, born in Warsaw, Indiana, who passed away on June 28, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Rhoades and Iva Ann Rhoades (Montel); his former wife Janet Smith Rhoades; his siblings, Delbert Rhoades, Leanna Rhoades Johnson, Wayne Rhoades and Eva Rhoades Slater; his nephews, David Rhoades, Michael Rhoades and Terry Johnson; his great grandchild Alice LaRue; his son Norman Sorrell; his grandchildren, Athena Sorrell and Jacob Vaughn; and his great grandchild Judah Bouyer.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Rhoades; his children, Marla LaRue (Scott), James Rhoades (Donna), David Rhoades, Lisa Cassell (Jeff), Linda Brantley (James) and Crystal Zentz (Ken); and his grandchildren, Aaron Yentes (Stephanie), Phillip Yentes (Vanessa), Christopher LaRue (Ashlie), Joshua LaRue (Renee), Kaitlyn LaRue, Donell Ortega (Alberto), Rachel Evans (Wesley), Jeffrey Rhoades (Alli), Elisha Granadas, Amanda Aust, Travis Aust (Deborah Jackson), Zachary Clemons (Becky), Kyle Vaughn (Cathrine), Myndie Everling (John), Cody Vaughn, Tom Sorrell (Via), Seth Sorrell, Katherine Bouyer (Steven), Moriah Inman (David), Jonathon Zentz, Isaiah Zentz, Elizabeth Zentz and Zophia Zentz. He is also survived by 42 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren, and 7 nieces and nephews.
