He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Kistler and Florence Kistler (Smith); his wife Bonnie Jean Hockersmith; his children, David Kistler and Lynn Kistler; his brothers, Manfred Kistler and Calvin Kistler; and also Linda Murphy.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Kistler; his sisters, Frieda Colby and Corabelle Crippen; his daughters-in-law, Kathy Kistler and Marie Kistler; and his grandchildren, Angel Kistler, Dawn Iannone and Michael Kistler. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
