He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Ladd and Margaret O'Leary Ladd. He is survived by: his son David Ladd of Pascoag; and his grandson Oliver Ladd of Knox.

He was also very active in his community, sitting on several boards focused on helping those in need, including the Indiana Community Foundation and the Bass Lake Conservancy.
