Earl Richard Nerger, 87 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Laporte, Indiana.
He was born Saturday, January 23, 1937 in Laporte In, Son of the late Earl R Nerger Sr and the late Marceda (Ehret) Nerger.
Earl was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church and a member of the Knox Masonic Lodge #639. Earl was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army. He loved to scuba dive and loved his husky dogs and his cat Sweet Pea.
He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Culver Academy.
Surviving are Son, Earl Richard Nerger III of Pensacola, Florida, Daughter, Laura (Sonny) Porter of Pensacola, Florida, 4 grandchildren: Ashley Porter Brewton of Foley, Al., Jeffery Porter of Pensacola, Florida, Jessica Nerger Wentz of Pensacola, Florida, Destiny Nerger of Franklin, LA, 2 great-grandchildren: Jordan Porter of Pensacola, Florida and Emmett Brewton of Pensacola, Florida.
He was preceded in death by parents Earl and Marceda Nerger and brother James Ray Nerger.
Friends will be received 9:00 AM until Time of Service at 11 AM at the Knox United Methodist Church, with a Masonic service at 10:30 AM, Braman & Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
Services will be held at Knox United Methodist Church, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Deborah Miller officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Park Cemetery in Knox, Indiana with a military graveside service.
Contributions may be made to the Knox United Methodist Church.
