He is survived by: his sons, Pat Smoot (Brenda) of Knightstown and Mark Smoot (Diane) of Greenfield; his grandchildren, Wes Smoot (Shelly), Sarah Widner (Scott), Tyler Smoot (Connie Jedding), Audrey Smoot (Keegan Austin) and Olivia Winters (Derrick); his great grandchildren, Makaley, Kinsley, Brayley, Braxton Smoot, Sadie, Seth Widner, Jack, Roxie Winters and Sienna Austin; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jessie Bitter, Kaylyn, Jordan and Dylan Boyd.
